Bow Down Before Lady Fun and Happiness

Teddy takes a shower every morning, and then uses a comb to smash his wet hair into a glossy, Magic Shell looking 'do. Every morning I tousle him a little, so he has normal boy hair, usually while he's brushing his teeth.

I did it this morning, and he spit into the sink and said, "Hey, Lady Fun and Happiness! Why must you mess with my hair piece?"

Nevermind that the boy doesn't know what a hair piece is, and really nevermind that "hair piece" makes me think of "cod piece"--I may have to make this name change official.

Teddy makes me laugh. I love a kid who can be that eloquent while brushing his teeth. and i will now henceforth call you Lady Fun and Happiness. It's just so fitting. Um, yeah.

Do you think it's possible that Teddy really thinks I'm full of fun and happiness? I suppose I am, in regards to *him*.

Otherwise, I'm pretty much Lady Snooze and Bookishness.

it's possible he does -- but my kids are all too aware of "mama's grumpiness" so perhaps ted is aware and is in denial : )

I love your new name, and I'm so delighted with Teddy!

(Oh, and I like corn, too.)

How cute. You have a son who is as good with words as you are.

"Lady Fun And Happiness" sounds like one of those Japanese t-shirts you see on www.engrish.com.

Good for Teddy, though.

-Joke, who likes, but is allergic to, corn

Overheard (and never forgotten) while visiting Teddy at preschool:

Jeremy (age 3): Teddy, you are funny and weird.

Teddy (age 3): Thank you. I know.

Thank you, Jeremy, for that perfect summation of my son.

it is my life goal to be summed up thus. and ted achieved it at three.

BB, you are funny and weird. And I love you for it. Gina, for some reason Lady Fun and Happiness makes me think you should be a character in Mr. Rogers' Make Believe Land, along with Lady Elaine and X the Owl. This is a compliment, by the way.

impjny: I'm pajamas, New York!

I think I missed the corn reference.

SL: The idea that someone thinks I could be on MRN is a total compliment--thanks! I worked at QED while MRN was still in production, and I GOT TO HANG OUT ON THE SET! I sat on the porch! On the SWING! Sigh. How I loved that sweet man.

I met Mr Rogers in an elevator once. It was a high point of my life.

He was VERY short.
