Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

"Pittsburgh's goin' to the Super Bowl...here we go!"
If you *really* want to know what the song is, go here and click on the Here We Go song from 2004. http://www.steelergridiron.com/fanzone/songs.html
I was in a local toy shop buying birthday gifts with Teddy two weeks ago, and this song was being looped. The poor girl running the register was forced to hear it over and over and over . . . every day, every week. I would have killed myself. (Or quit, at the very least.) I don't mind the song in its place as a novelty heard once a year, but I have to admit that I *couldn't* stand to browse for the length of time I normally spend in that store.
Can't say I've ever heard a "fan song" quite like it. It's like a cross between "Sixteen Tons" and "Stray Cat Strut."
Mind you I was a Redskins fan in 1984, and *their* cheesy song was a takeoff on "Uptown Girl." ("Su-per-Bowl... the Skins are goin' to the Su-per-Bowl... they're gonna win it like they did last year... they'll make the Raiders want a new career... and then we'll cheer...") (They lost in '84.) So really, I'm in no position to critique anyone else's fight song.
Is that really a song? It sounds like a 5th grade music class concert. I could barely handle listening for 2:48, I don't know how the shopgirl could listen to it on loop.
But Yay! The Steelers are going to the Super Bowl! Yay!
I HATE that song, but watching the game was admittedly fun, all the kids were very excited, and it was nice to see them win. that ben rothlissinjinsinsin seems like a class act, and hines ward is so cute : )
i really don't care about football, but i can understand that other people do. i don't sneer at them like some people i know do - i used to work with a guy who made all sorts of rude comments about the intelligence of people who watched football ever - i am a hockey girl.

PS--I watched yesterday's game with Teddy and his dad. We are the very model of a modern happy family. :-)

The polka song is *much* more fun, if you ask me, but it uses all the old Iron Curtain Steelers' names it.
Peg, you remind me: Did anyone see John Cougar Mellonballs performing that bastardized version of Rockin' in the NCAA? How I'd like to kick him.
Go Hawks!
What?

go pens!
Do the Penguins really have a penguin mascot like Carla's husband supposedly was on Cheers? I've always wondered.
it could be either, i guess. i discourage the guins thing here as i think it's dumb - we say go pens in this household.
although h sometimes calls them the pengys...
peg - the mascot is iceburgh. if you ever see the movie sudden death (this is not a recc) there's a great scene with the pens' mascot.
here's a link to his pic.

although we own the rubber duck version too
