A Fat Girl Book I Can Sink My Teeth Into

I just this afternoon picked up I'm Not the New Me at the library. I can't remember where I got the recommendation for this, but if you look at the link and look closely at the cover, you will see those pics from those 70s Weight Watcher's recipe cards Val found! Imagine my surprise when I figured out why they looked so familiar!

I've only read a few pages, as I'm now back at work, but so far, so good.

Update: It turns out that this book is familiar because Wendy McClure, the author, writes for Television Without Pity, and also has her own website at poundy.com.

It's all coming together now. (And yes, I know it probably should have *been* together before I even started reading--back when I requested the book from the library, but . . . better late than never.)

I'm more than half-way through, by the way, and I have laughed out loud more than once, and called my friend Suzanne to read passages to her. Twice.

It's good stuff.

Laughing out loud is good -- it's rare that a book or movie can make me do that -- smile yes but not laugh out loud. Maybe I'll check it out.
