"We did not go to Mexico to buy weed." - Kemper, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"

How many men at work do you suppose receive the following email from their wife:

Subject: RE: Home Depot

Hey, guess what I just bought?

And respond accurately with “A chainsaw”?

Well, um, cool.

did he seem to be fearful that you would use it on him? Or does he believe there to be a legit yard work need for it?

That's funny! He must know there's yard work to be done and that you want it done. :)

I don't know what to say about the chainsaw other than we are always seem to need something cut down here ...

Just catching up on a couple of your posts:

1) I agree. Richard Ford bores me to tears. When his latest came out, Lay of the Land, I thought, goodie, I like a series. So I went out and bought the first two, one of which was The Sportswriter (this is just last year). I gave it 100 pages and j.u.s.t. c.o.u.l.d. n.o.t. r.e.a.d. a.n.y.m.o.r.e! Obviously middle age men with 2 dimensional females in his life are not for me. So, luckily I had time to take them back.

2) After you posted about the Kingsolver recently I have placed it on my watch list at TBD. Waiting. Waiting.

Ever since a professional tree surgeon slashed his artery in our back garden when I was a kid, I've had a horror (understandable, I think) of chainsaws.

My mum never got the sheet white again.

we have custody of the extended family's chainsaw, at present.
but K is a little too bashed up to use it, at present.
I do have a tree down though - if you could swing by...
