Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

isn't he the most beautiful baby ever?
Here is my brother and his wife's new little boy, Andrew, born last Friday. He looks just like my little brother. ACK! My little brother is a father! Life is so weird sometimes.
Absolutely. Look at that photo -- Baby Andrew is swaddled -- that's what does my heart in! He's still so new! You know? It's like it's ALL of our responsibility to make this world safe for him. He seems to be handling the world OK so far, at least in this photo! Why can't I stop punctuating with exclamation points! Congratulations on aunthood (again) and to the new mommy and daddy.
