My new bookshelves are installed.
Merry Christmas to me!
Easily one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received.
As I expected, the space was perfect for bookshelves, almost as if that was what should have been there from the very start.
Now this can be dealt with:
And now, the fun but difficult part begins: what books belong on these shelves, these shelves in my bedroom - that most intimate of spaces, the shelves closest to my bed and therefore my heart...I foresee some books being relegated to downstairs, even as some of my favorites from downstairs (AS Byatt, Salman Rushdie, Andrea Barrett) are transferred upstairs. 
This could keep me entertained for days, if not weeks.

Those are gorgeous bookshelves. And beautiful wood floors, trim and baseboards as well.
And WOW! that is a lot of books.
Now I have bookcase envy. We have books in our linen closet. Our move is requiring 30 book boxes.

I love the title quote - I am going to have to pinch that one. And I LOVE your shelves. I agree there is a particular type of book that is "bedroom worthy". Have fun but don't break your back!
I can highly recommend arranging by colour - it is strangely soothing.

Those are gorgeous shelves...I am jealous! This is probably a perfect opportunity to buy more books to put on them.
They're gorgeous. Sorting through them is always my favorite part - the librarian instinct, multiplied by the fun of knowing they're all YOURS.
These are great bookshelves! I love them. And bonus, you get to look at all your books again when you put them on the shelves. :)
