Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

Harry Potter Spoiler?
I won't mention it here in case you really don't want to know, but I am really disappointed to have come across this information. I don't want to know who dies until I read the book, and I don't want to know who the half-blood prince is, either! Can't anything be a surprise anymore? Yes, there's a chance that the information from these bookies doesn't mean anything, but . . .

I don't think it matters to me if I "know" or not, since I won't really know until I actually read the book. But I do hate spoilers - and don't even get me started on movie trailers. They're more like those digested reads from the Guardian, but with movies.
On the other hand, the character they mention as being the half-blood prince - who the hell is he, even? I don't remember him! Time to reread Order of the Phoenix.
