*"The Teddy Bears' Picnic"
Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

I read that a little while ago and really enjoyed it even though or perhaps because I had read some spoilers on Badger's blog.
I recently read her next book: The Likeness and loved that, too although the initial premise is not believable. It reminded me of The Secret History by Donna Tartt (that I also read recently and loved).
Oh, I loved that book too! And the next one. One of those books that you can't stop reading.
oh, let me know how you like it! I gave the book to two people for Xmas because it looked so good. maybe I need to get a copy for myself now....
Another book that awaits me on my shelves - your view may push it up the pile!
Also, as to your enquiry, I have read The Monsters of Templeton and loved it (thanks for asking). I think I put in in my top ten of last year.
The Likeness is also wonderful but like ssheers I found the initial premise a little unbelievable but I quickly got over that.
