Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

"I'd like to dream my troubles all away on a bed of California Stars..."
I feel MUCH better after a dozen listenings to my dear, moody, genius Jeff Tweedy singing "California Stars," from Wilco's album "Mermaid Avenue."
You listen to it a few times and see if YOU can maintain a bad mood...go on, I dare you....
Music does improve one's mood, but we forget that sometimes. Love that song. It's my favourite on the Mermaid Ave CD, but unfortunately my childrens' least favourite. They like Hoo doo voodoo (pony on a tin can...)
I like Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key and Hesitating Beauty. Actually I like all of both Mermaid Avenue cds. LC: It's funny, everyone I know who has kds and has this cd, their kids love Hoodoo Voodoo.

I meant the Charlie Brown "Hey Ya." But you're cute. What are you, a librarian? (You know you still are, even if you don't get paid to be one)
