Subject: Pole dancing (yup, really!)
Hello ladies!
OK, I am planning a Women's Night Out, and here is the info:
Sunday Sep 30 (lots of notice, you'll see why in a minute) 7:30p - 9p (with probable hanging out after)for no reason at all at Fitness with a Twist (http://www.fitnesswithatwistpgh.com/)
[Note from BB: Check out those instructors. Honey, those are strippers.]
This is a one time 90 minute "class" where we will learn pole dancing and cat-walk walking and learn a dance routine if we want. Attire is casual, we will be the only ones there, the woman who runs it says to try it barefoot or wear "strappy but secure" shoes. They have props (hats, boas, etc.) It is BYO snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non as we prefer).
If we get 15 women it will cost $13.50 each. THERE IS A LIMIT OF 15 WOMEN IN THE CLASS! So please let me know ASAP if you can make it, and then please don't cancel unless there is an emergency as the rest of us will be stuck footing the bill!
[Note from BB: Or tucking it in their g-strings.]
I think this will be a blast! I hope some of you think so as well.
-D

I appreciate my friend D’s efforts to keep her friends together and connected.
I appreciate her trying to break us all out of our professional, approaching-middle-age molds.
I even appreciate her suggesting we try something new.
But I went to college so I DIDN'T HAVE TO LEARN TO POLE DANCE.

Okay, see, that's a NIGHTMARE to me. I can't even express how much I would NEVER EVER want to do that.
Shudder.
Stripping and pole dancing are high on the short list of things I never want to do, or have never done. I prefer the use of brilliant conversation to ensnare conquests.
OK.
Forgive my terminal Y-Chromosome-ness, but...
Isn't anyone the least bit curious as to why D thought this would be a good thing?
I, for one, am wildly interested in being walked through -- or explained with the aid of stick figures and crayon -- the thought process undergirding the entire matter.
Not that I'll get it, but there ya go.

P.S. My WVW is "bwiwigf." Really.
you did get it, so there. check your email. - BB
I checked...so far, bupkis.

Never mind. It had been erroneously considered spam.
Mea maxima culpa.

oh, BB, you must go! If only to know whether you took the better route by going to college, or if you would have preferred pole dancing.
if Mrs. TANBI was invited, you really must both go, because it makes me giggle. And we all know that is why I encourage people to do *anything*.

I must say, I think that looks like it could be fun. Also I doubt it has as much to do with learning pole dancing as a trade, as it has to do with feeling sexy and desirable.
you, RL, are welcome to attend in my place. and katy - it would more likely make you retch. you can giggle just thinking about it.- BB
I went to college so I wouldn't have to sell crack.
Not the best financial decision I ever made...
I went to college because my parents made me. And no way in hell is my 40-year-old ass humping a stripper pole. Anyone watching would have to be even drunker than me for that to work.
I'm thinking a night at the Sharp Edge would top this ANY NIGHT OF THE WEEK. Sometimes I wonder if I am really related genetically to other women...
I assumed it was a joke email. You mean she is serious? Sheesh.
I was going to say that my 43-year-old ass hanging off a pole would only happen shortly before the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse galloped through town. And then I gazed upon these comely lasses and figured people have seen worse.
The missus IS going. Probably she'd like someone to be snarky with.
I find it interesting that when you post something about a book on your blog -- which is ostensibly about books and reading, you get like 4 posts. But when you post something about pole dancing, you get like 15 posts....
Yeah, she has such a classy readership.
Do you think you have to take academic classes to get your "Master Instructor" designation? Hmmmmm.
