Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

"We are defined by the lines we choose to cross or to be confined by."*
Looky! Thanks to Loretta, I now know this is out, a full SIX MONTHS before it will be released in the States. What, I ask, is the point of THAT? I am about to order it and pay for it in Canadian dollars. (Thank you, VISA.)

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
had NO idea - so exciting!!!
Let me know as soon as you start reading it! I want to copy it all into my journal and illustrate it.
Six months? Who on earth?
It's out here right now. You poor Americans.

That was meant to be why on earth, not who.

I love AS Byatt's books. I wonder why they chose to stagger the US release?
Enjoy it!
Good joob
