Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

"There is only one step from the sublime to the ridiculous." - Napoleon Bonaparte
From the sublime (Victoria sponge with whipped cream and strawberry jam, from Nigella, for a mom I had over for coffee):
to the ridiculous (Rice Krispie treats, for Primo's class snack, per his request):
Crikey! Your visitors get the best morning tea! My bestest and oldest buddies have to help themselves to the tea and coffee cupboard and know that they should always make one for me to ha ha! I'm thinking I need to "jazz up" these old relationships - don't want them to go stale ;-)

I had the Victoria sponge cake w/ whipped cream and strawberry jam, and it really was sublime!
Yum!!
Plus, BabelBabe had some ideas for variations on the recipe that sound just as sublime. Mmm mmm mmm!
I'm with Badger...
