Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

so excited
Khaled Hosseini (The Kite Runner) has a new book coming out! A Thousand Splendid Suns will be released on May 22.
Cannot. Wait. I will look forward to this more than I will look forward to my birthday.
Totally OT: Did you hear that Cletus died? I know that you and he were not best buds, but I am sad that he will never wander the halls of Purnell or be the surprise hit guest at an event any longer. Of course, I was also bummed for the future freshman design classes because they would never have Cletus to kick their butts, as my class was his last.
katy - couldn't have missed it if i'd tried as he merited almost a half page obit in the post gazette. in fact i emailed all my cmu buds to let them know...i don't wish pain and death on anyone but i am finding it a bit hard to murmur sympathetically when people tell me how sad they are. needless to say, i will not be attending the memorial service, as that would be just hypocritical. and if you ask me, not having him around to emotionally beat up on unsuspecting and immature if developing 18-year-olds is a fine thing. but no one asked me.
