"And so we had a cup of tea..." - "Right Said Fred" by Bernard Cribbins

***************

The baby is NOT mine.
The dog, Fred, may be.
Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

The dog looks lovely. Hairy, slobbery, smelly, but lovely. And that rug will be TOAST in about a week. Just letting you know.

We're getting one of those too!
Similar, same color, but ours will be smaller and more likely to pee.

Whee.

Fred is gorgeous!

You've weakened haven't you? It's a done deal I can tell - look at that look on his face (the dog that is)? And the baby - is it an optional extra?

The rug is not ours either. My house is all sensible, medium-colored, usually patterned, washable carpet or hardwood already scratched up to bits by matchbox cars and hockey sticks. Fred shoudl fit right in.

Days - I didn't want a puppy, specifically. ESPECIALLY if the 4th baby comes to pass...but good luck with yours : )

Fred is such a great name. I wanted to name one of our cats Fred.

Oh, I love Fred. I want to come visit so I can stroke his soft head (and talk with you, of course, while I stroke his soft head).

Is that a chocolate lab or just a big brown dog? He's pretty whatever he is.

What a sweet looking boy! I love dogs. I have a friend who only adopts grown dogs so she know what kind of temperment she's getting for her kids.

What a gorgeous dog.

I'm sure you won't regret it. They are a lovable addition to the household chaos.

I am pretty excited : )

He is a chocolate lab. The quick story is that his owners' daughter is very allergic, and they have held out as long as theycould hoping she'd show signs of outgrowing the allergy, but she's almost two now and the allergy is worse, not better. (That's the baby in the photo.)

So they were looking for a new home for Fred, and there you have it. Free to good home, blah blah blah, clearly fab with kids...and he's a sweetie. Also, I can't believe H agreed, frankly. But he seems sort of excited too.

Yay, Fred!
