"Well, there's something you don't see everyday."*

Looks to be about 18 inches of snow out there. Roads are pretty bad, and we are still considered in a state of emergency. However, the only emergency I am feeling at the moment is the fact that I am almost out of chocolate.

(UPDATED: and I need a set of size 15 dpns! Argh! Pencils could work, yes?)

Try a wooden spoon handle for a 15.

Snow like that is just one reason I live in California. Looks pretty from here.

Holy Snowpocalypse!

I've been known to eat chocolate cake batter when snowed in in a state of no-chocolate emergency.

But oh! I'm exhausted just thinking about the snowpants, mittens, and boots for 4 boys....

This is one of those events it's nice to watch from afar.

Lots of pretty snow!

Sorry 'bout the chocolate. Major downer that.

We got 22" of snow here. Some around here got up to 40". Some have not had power for several days and won't get their power back for several more days. And there's another storm coming Tuesday night. Everything was closed Friday, Saturday, and today, and just about everything is closed tomorrow, too.

We dug out so I could drive to the store to get more chocolate. There was a pile of snow the size of an iceberg on top of my minivan.

ooooh, pretty.

You know I've never lived anywhere it snows so do not know the pain-in-the-arse nature of its reality.

As we sweat out another February day in Sydney I dream, DREAM of being stuck in a house with four children and a dwindling supply of chocolate due to being snowed in.

Seriously, so humid here Mum's salt has turned to saltwater. Not kidding.

Oh, another hot Australian saying 'pretty' here.

It did used to snow in Tassie where I grew up, nothing so grand as that though, never lasted more than a couple of days, so it was just a big old holiday where grown ups acted like kids.

My children have never seen snow. It feels like a strange gap between my childhood and theirs.

Sounds like the ideal excuse for a sled rescue mission to the local 7-11! Is anything open?

(Perfect quote by the way).

I think you'd need those big, fat kindergarten-style pencils to make a decent 15...
