Sryashta spins golden yarn inside which she weaves your fate. (If you are a good and kind person, she may just take matters into her own capable hands and improve it.)
She is the goddess of good fortune and serves as the household assistant of Mokosh, the Slavic earth goddess.
Sryashta is a variant of the Dolya/Nedolya myth.

"Glory days, well, they'll pass you by, glory days..." *
I went back to my archives to see what I had done for Christmas last year - posting and giftwise - and came to the sad conclusion that I used to be much funnier, and a much better writer.
Okay, I will de-lurk a bit to give you encouragement. I don't always comment, but I do read! And I always get a kick out of what you write, no matter what your mood. So there!
You may (like me) be suffering from a slight diminution in writing ability. However, you are not boring the internet to TEARS by spending the ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER talking about how fat you are.
I'm afraid I just can't agree with this post at all! Get we have some blogger comment biffo (punch up -don't know if biffo is Aussie or worldwide slang!) now?
Anyway, I just read you last six posts and laughed at everyone of them - except your latest about the troops in Iraq - which I have to agree - they all (including the Aussies over there) should come home.

Oh give me a break. And besides, last Christmas you weren't expecting nor did you have a dog.
You are still one of my favorite bloggers, so there.
No, I do that too. And I go back a year or so and think 'Wow! How much more fun I was back then!'
sigh.

Keep it up! I like it here.
Believe me, even at your worst you are still a better writer and funnier than 99% of the blogosphere. And 110% better read.
Dude. Me too.
Maybe we all need a little break, a breather and a hefty dose of battery recharging?
Cheers
Was it last year or the year before when you did that huge post wherein you gave us all virtual gifts?
Cos THAT was fun.
(Not that you're not fun now of course. You're just with child and with dog).
I still remember my gift from that post -- it was Radiohead's live cd. That was a fun post.
And you are still fun to read, no matter the mood.

So you've got that going for you. Which is nice.
