I liked it.

I LOVE coming up with book recommendations like that - especially when you know the child in question. I know a few kids who I squirrel away ideas for - so satisfying. I'm curious about the age inappropriate book.

Oh, oh! You should recommend her A Drowned Maiden's Hair - deals with death, orphans, all the usual stuff. I think it would be appropriate - but you ought to read it and make up your mind. It's well worth it.Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16563414055936087654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10685011.post-43835653781050144302007-09-16T22:22:00.000-04:002007-09-16T22:22:00.000-04:00I mean lizard.I mean lizard.craftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14396831672463509735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10685011.post-84807778855766321132007-09-16T22:21:00.000-04:002007-09-16T22:21:00.000-04:00OK now I feel really dumb. I have since visited your dog post. I am relatively new to blogging, and all this blog politics is doing my head in, I thought it would be a bit of fun, but apparently it's serious business! ;)craftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14396831672463509735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10685011.post-22181256230279265312007-09-16T18:58:00.000-04:002007-09-16T18:58:00.000-04:00Re Update: you're welcome. Now must fly, am flat ou...Re Update: you're welcome.

Now must fly, am flat out like a lizard imbibing hahahahahaha. Haven't heard of a couple of them, however, so must rectify that.
What was the inappropriate book?
Glad you're enjoying work.lazy cowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10756448890246596503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10685011.post-89402345438672297352007-09-16T02:17:00.000-04:002007-09-16T02:17:00.000-04:00It's not often I can correct you, oh wise and educ...It's not often I can correct you, oh wise and educated librarian friend, but Robert Louis Stevenson wrote those lines first in his Requiem. Housman was apparently honouring Stevenson when he put them in one of his 'Additional Poems' (I forget which).

"Home is the sailor, home from the sea, and the hunter home from the hill."

Makes my eyes prickle every time I hear or read it.Susehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14837796439737091649noreply@blogger.com
